What should a CV for an application look like?
The core of your application is your CV. We have put together some important information for you here:
- Feel free to omit unimportant details: a 30-year-old applicant doesn't need to include their primary school days.
- Chronological order: It's a matter of taste whether you start with the newest or the oldest, but the recruiter doesn't want to have to search. If you have a gap in your CV, then name it and don't try to hide it.
- A sensible division as one of the most important application tips: Divide the content into sections, e.g. personal details, school and education, professional career, special skills, (private) commitment
- Please state your skills precisely (e.g. language and IT skills, but also specialist knowledge from your professional background).
- Less is more: Instead of lots of graphics, bright colours, and „fiddly bits“, choose a classic design like our application templates.
- Highlighting important points: bold headings, the CV with meaningful subheadings, your contact details rather understated.
How do I prepare for a job interview at SYNERGIE or with the company?
You should clarify these points before a job interview to be well-prepared:
- Research the role and company and make notes.
- Practice a short self-introduction: Almost every HR person will ask you to introduce yourself briefly.
- Allow ample time: for travel, finding parking, locating the correct building, and taking a deep breath.
- Be punctual, but not too early: about 10 to a maximum of 15 minutes before the appointment is perfect.
- Make a note of your questions about the position or the company.

The name SYNERGIE is composed of two Greek terms: „syn“ means „with“ and „ergos“ means work.
At SYNERGIE, we stand for long-term and trusting cooperation.
Activity as a project employee through temporary work
General questions and answers about how temporary work (Arbeitnehmerüberlassung) functions, potential project assignments, and more.
How does employee leasing (or "temporary work") actually work?
Dienstleister-Überlassung (or „temporary work“, as it's also known) is a so-called triangular relationship. The employee (you) enters into an employment contract with the service provider (SYNERGIE). Like other employment contracts, this includes regulations on wages and special benefits such as holiday and Christmas pay, working hours, holiday days, etc. You are therefore „normally“ employed and liable for social security contributions.
The service provider (SYNERGIE) also concludes an agreement with the company where you will be placed. You will then effectively work for two supervisors: the HR consultant at SYNERGIE is your disciplinary supervisor (responsible for holidays, time off, duty rosters, etc.) and the relevant person at the host company is your technical supervisor. For example, they can give you instructions regarding your daily tasks.
Do I get an unlimited employment contract at SYNERGIE?
In principle, we ensure that our employees are given an indefinite contract whenever possible. This is because „temporary work“ does not mean work for a limited time, but rather projects for a limited time.
We have employees who have been with us for five, ten, or even more years. Our longest-serving project employee was with us for almost as long as SYNERGIE has existed: he retired after 44 years with us.
In which company and what role will I be deployed?
The primary goal of our company is to place every employee according to their qualifications and aspirations. Therefore, we place great importance on accurately determining your skills and qualifications and discussing your wishes with you.
Key criteria for finding the right project include, for example,.
- Your education/studies or professional experience
- Your knowledge and skills, matching the task
- The desired conditions (place of work, working hours, salary, etc.)
- Your long-term goals
Will I be assigned to a project long-term?
Longer-term projects naturally take priority at SYNERGIE. However, as we also need to react to short-term changes at our client companies, the occasional change can occur.
A change of project can also be an advantage for you, as it allows you to get to know several companies and perform different tasks, thereby gaining experience for your professional life.
Who is my point of contact at the client company, and what will my first day on the project be like?
We will, of course, inform you thoroughly in advance about all circumstances at your assignment company. In addition, you will usually be accompanied to your new workplace by your personal consultant on your first day of work. On this occasion, your direct supervisor at the assignment company will naturally also be introduced to you. Personal contact is very important to us.
How long is my probationary period?
The contractually agreed probationary period is six months. This is customary and also stipulated in the collective agreement.
Is there a chance of being taken on directly by the employing company?
Based on experience, the prospects for this are very good. Especially in recent years, companies have been using temporary staffing to get to know an employee on the job and, if their performance is good, to hire them directly.
By now, more than a third of our employees are taken on from the deployment service. After passing your probationary period, your chances of being taken on by the client statistically rise to over 80 percent.
Will I keep being employed if a project assignment ends?
„Temporary work“ doesn't mean fixed-term employment contracts, but rather fixed-term projects. When a project assignment ends, your employment contract with us remains valid, and we will look for a new area of deployment for you within a suitable company. Naturally, we will consult closely with you throughout this process, because even with such follow-up assignments: they must be a good fit for you, your skills, wishes, and expectations.
Will I be provided with work clothes and/or protective equipment if needed?
Of course, we ensure your safety in the workplace. If you work in the industrial and technical sector, we will naturally equip you with the necessary work clothing and safety equipment. For this, we have partnered with„uvex“an extremely high-quality partner for work and protective clothing.
What happens if I'm ill?
Your employment with us is subject to the normal statutory provisions and is subject to social security contributions (unless it is a marginal employment in a minijob). This naturally entitles you to continued pay in the event of illness.
As with any other employer, you must of course also inform us immediately if you are ill.

In addition, collective agreements on temporary work apply in individual sectors (so-called „industry surcharge collective agreements“).
What hourly wage will I get?

Furthermore, certain industries have their own minimum wages that apply to projects within those sectors. After 9 or 15 months, legally or collectively agreed upon, pay equity.
The collective agreement rates mentioned are always the minimum wages payable. Higher remuneration is often possible, but this depends on the specific project. Of course, we will discuss this in detail with you during the interview and also before every change of assignment.
When is the salary paid?
The salary will be transferred to your account on the 15th of the following month.
Are there set extra payments for night, Sunday, and public holiday work?

These are regulated in the collective bargaining agreement as follows:
- Night work = 25 % allowance
- Sunday work = 50 % bonus
- Working on public holidays = 100 % bonus
Are there any further allowances or benefits?
Depending on qualifications and the specific project, grants may be available, such as travel cost subsidies. Please discuss this with your personal consultant in each individual case.
Furthermore, all SYNERGIE employees benefit from our Employee offers. This way, you get discounts from numerous well-known providers, for example in the areas of fashion, technology, home and travel, and save real money.
By the way, you can secure a bonus with our Referral programme, when you recommend us as an employer to friends or acquaintances looking for a job and they are hired by us.
Is holiday and/or Christmas pay provided?
After your probationary period, you will receive holiday and Christmas bonuses as determined by the collective agreement. In 2024, this will initially amount to €200 gross each (in the first year), later €300 (in the 2nd and 3rd year), or €400 (from the 4th year), depending on your length of service with SYNERGIE.
Holiday pay will be paid with the June payroll, and Christmas bonus with the November payroll. Further payments may be possible depending on your current project commitment.
How many hours is the working time?

What is my holiday entitlement?
In your first year of employment, you have agreed to 25 days of holiday as per the collective agreement. In your second and third years at SYNERGIE, your holiday entitlement increases to 27 days, and from the fourth year onwards, you will receive 30 days of paid holiday per year.
What are industry surcharges and how do they affect my earnings?
We want you to earn the same as permanent employees at your operating company. Through a so-called „Industry surcharge“Based on the current wage according to the collective agreement, your earnings should be adjusted to match those of the permanent staff at the client company. For this purpose, so-called industry surcharge collective agreements have been concluded with various trade unions.
The surcharge depends, on the one hand, on the industry in which the employing company operates and also on the wages of the permanent staff. On the other hand, it depends on how long your current assignment has already lasted. The first stage begins on the first day (depending on the industry), further increases occur after 3, 5, 7, 9, and 15 months – until the earnings of comparable colleagues at the client company are reached. After 9 or 15 months, legally or collectively agreed upon pay equity.
Direct placement with a company
Questions and answers on how mediation into direct employment with a company works and what benefits mediation through SYNERGIE brings you
What are the advantages for me of using an agency compared to applying directly to the company?

- We don't just know the roles and companies „on paper“, but we also know „what type“ is being sought: We therefore advise every candidate not only based on technical criteria, but also on where it could genuinely be a good fit.
- The usual application marathon is dispensed with: You are applying exactly once – and that's with us. We'll take care of the rest.
- You will be intensively prepared by us for job interviews.
- We advise and support you in achieving your career goals – and also accompany you in the medium and long term.
How much does direct placement with a company cost me?
There are no costs for you when we find you a placement. The costs for the placement are borne by the company we place you with (they pay a commission).
Our service is also non-binding: Even if you reject one or more of the positions we suggest, there will be no cost to you.
Can I apply if I am still employed?
Naturally, you can also apply if you are in ongoing employment and wish to change. We will, of course, treat your data confidentially and anonymously.
Can I choose which company I am referred to?
Of course!
The process is as follows:
- You are applying for a position with us.
- We will have a personal conversation with you about your wishes and requirements, your qualifications, experience, etc.
- If we have a position that matches your qualifications and the requirements discussed with you, we will inform you about the position and the company.
- If you express your interest, we will pass your anonymised exposé to the company.
Will I meet the company before the placement?
If the company finds the anonymous profile we sent you interesting, a personal interview will usually take place at the company. There, you will get to know your potential future manager and, of course, the company itself.
We will prepare you for the interview and accompany you where necessary. This can be particularly helpful if you have little experience with job interviews.
Is recruitment only for executives?
We offer recruitment services for almost all professional groups. We place qualified specialists, for example from the technical sector or nursing, in exciting new jobs just as readily as we do academics, such as those in finance or engineers from various disciplines – and career starters just as much as experienced professionals and managers.
What salary and other terms and conditions will I receive at the new company?
You will negotiate your salary and other terms and conditions in the employment contract (e.g. holiday, any additional benefits, etc.) directly with the company to which we are placing you. We would be happy to advise you on what an industry-standard salary might be for your future role, for example.
