Your tasks
- Successful execution of the assigned manufacturing process in collaboration with the neighbouring process owners
- Visual quality inspection of welds and components
- Inspection and verification of weld preparation, welding sequence and preheating
- Compliance with the welding parameters specified in the welding procedures and work instructions
- Preparation of welding documentation
- Adherence to the agreed timetable
- CIP – Continuous Improvement Process
- Provision, labelling and handling of consumables and equipment (in particular welding consumables)
- Management of staff involved in the process
- Preparation and conduct of process, operator and welder examinations
- Compliance with the relevant health and safety and environmental protection guidelines
- Assumption of responsibility for welding in accordance with EN 1090-2 EXC 3 / 4
- Involvement in welding committees and in research and development
- Production monitoring and acceptance of components from external suppliers
- Preparation of documents relating to production and quality assurance
- Drawing checks
- Training and induction for production staff
- Drawing up work instructions and procedure checks
- Drawing up welding and inspection plans
- Creating a weld seam matrix
- Creating repair instructions
- Creating quality deviation reports
- Planning of steel structure inspections
- Steelwork inspections
- Interface for production monitoring
- In the event of production deviations, work collaboratively with production control to find solutions within the framework of the relevant regulations
What you need
- Completed training in welding techniques (Welding Engineer)
- Many years’ professional experience in a metalworking company
- Experience in managing staff
- Independent working method
- A high degree of initiative and resilience
- Ability to work as part of a team, attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to work shifts
- Risk assessment and the preparation of risk assessments
- Annual health and safety training for staff
- Business-level English, both spoken and written
