Your tasks

  • You will test material samples for hardness, elasticity or defects
  • You use methods in which samples are deliberately subjected to stress (destructive) or remain undamaged by means of ultrasound and X-rays (non-destructive)
  • You will record measurement data on the computer and draw up test reports for the engineers
  • You will be operating high-tech equipment, digital microscopes and computer-aided measurement systems
  • You work strictly in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards (e.g. DIN standards), as people’s lives may depend on your work

What you need 

  • At least a good secondary school leaving certificate or a certificate from a Realschule
  • An interest in technology, physics and chemistry
  • Careful and reliable working method
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to work as part of a team
  • Manual dexterity and technical understanding
