At their last meeting, members of the Federal Employers„ Association of Personnel Service Providers (BAP) and the Association of German Temporary Employment Agencies (iGZ) gave the green light with an overwhelming majority for the merger of the two employers“ associations into the "General Association of Personnel Service Providers" (GVP).

With the GVP, one of the largest employers' associations in Germany is being created, representing approximately 6,000 member companies and, together with the DGB trade unions, will in future organise the working and social conditions for around 800,000 temporary agency workers. The iGZ federal chairman Christian Baumann will lead the new association in future as GVP President, alongside his deputy Sebastian Lazay, who currently heads the BAP.

The new employer and business association henceforth represents the entire personnel services sector in Germany, from temporary employment agencies to recruitment agencies, personnel consulting, and personnel development. With this, the entire personnel services sector is positioning itself for the future with united strengths and resources, in order to successfully meet the major challenges in the labour market and to increase its influence on politics, the economy, and society. Future security through merger!
