Why does the Social Day exist?

For SYNERGIE, taking entrepreneurial responsibility is a matter of course – whether in special projects or initiatives, or in everyday collaboration with applicants, employees, client companies, and partners.

The „Social Day“ gives our apprentices the opportunity to get involved in society and actively experience how they can help through their commitment. The aim is to strengthen social responsibility while simultaneously developing skills such as project management, communication, and teamwork. By organising everything independently, we not only promote their initiative but also their personal development.

The different projects so far

These are the projects that the SYNERGIE apprentices have implemented so far:

2012: Therapeutic Horse Riding for Inclusion Children in Rastatt

2013: Joint activities with the residents of the Emmendingen nursing home for Carnival

2013: St Nicholas„ Day at the “Alban Stolz" nursery in Freiburg

2014: SYNERGIE apprentices support food bank sales in Pforzheim and offer a free Christmas stand for customers

2015: Serving meals at the Vesperkirche in Karlsruhe

2016: Application training at the Federal Employment Agency in Schwetzingen

2017: Flea market stall and active support for the Karlsruhe railway mission

2018: Building furniture and crafting decorations for the „“Räuberburg" of the Association for Support of Children with Cancer e.V. at the Municipal Hospital Karlsruhe

2019: Stem Cell Donor Registration Drive (DKMS) in Stuttgart

2021: Treasure Hunt and Application Training for Children & Young People of the Schloss Bruchsal Youth Welfare Institution

2022: Supporting the #seiMensch campaign for the homeless and those in need

2023: A day for children of the Sybelcentrum Karlsruhe at Monkeytown and collection of donations for children and schools

A good experience

The Social Day is also a great opportunity for the apprentices themselves to help people in need. For example, Jaqueline Luibrand (a former trainee for personnel services in Freudenstadt, now a personnel consultant in Pforzheim) talks about the Social Day 2017: „That was my second Social Day at SYNERGIE, and it's always a fantastic experience to see how easily you can help people who have fallen into hardship and poverty.“.
