Your tasks

Design and integration of marine systems such as propulsion systems, shafting systems, pumping and cooling systems, and ship stabilisers
Production of assembly and individual part drawings, including bills of materials and manufacturing documentation, using 3D CAD systems (e.g. Siemens NX, Solid Edge); design of mechanical components, taking into account material properties, stress analyses and maritime guidelines
Close coordination with specialist departments such as hydraulics, pipework design, equipment and electrical engineering
Support for projects from the concept phase through to on-site assembly and commissioning
Involvement in technical calculations (e.g. FEM, CFD) and verification for classification societies (DNV, ABS, Bureau Veritas)
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation in the PDM/PLM system

What you need

A degree in mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, design engineering or a comparable qualification (e.g. a mechanical engineering technician with experience in the construction of specialised plant)
Professional experience as a design engineer (m/f/d) in mechanical engineering for the shipbuilding industry is required
Proficiency in using modern CAD systems, good knowledge of PLM systems
Expertise in the design of maritime plant components
An understanding of complex systems and interfaces within a ship
A structured, quality-focused approach to work and a strong ability to work as part of a team
