15 years at SYNERGIE: „I’ll stay until I retire“

2001, a special day at the end of March: on his birthday, Thomas Kilian, a qualified electrician, was taken on by SYNERGIE – which at the time was still trading as „GMW“ – in Karlsruhe. That was 15 years ago, and this anniversary has now been celebrated at the Karlsruhe Branch celebrated with a small get-together over drinks.

During his time at SYNERGIE, 47-year-old Thomas Kilian has had a wide range of experiences: from one-day assignments to those lasting several years, the electrician has worked for 43 companies over the last 15 years and has served as Electrician and these, of course, as well on assembly and on-site construction sites. He also has close ties with his employer and, for example, played a part in the relocation of the Pforzheim site, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, was involved in the electrical installations. In his „busiest year“, he worked for 12 client companies; last year, however, there were „only“ two – though, as an electrician, he was of course working on various installation sites.

Kilian is a dream employee, according to SYNERGIE’s managing director, Nicole Munk: „He is hard-working, reliable and flexible; he is highly valued by the client companies and is often requested.“
„The working conditions here are just right,“ says Thomas Kilian, reflecting on his 15 years with the company. Managing Director Nicole Munk asked the long-serving employee whether he hoped to be taken on by a company he had been working for on a long-term basis once the maximum assignment period of 18 months came to an end. „I could have moved to an electrical company ages ago,“ said Thomas Kilian, who has already received several offers of permanent employment during his career. However, he assured her that the job security at SYNERGIE was more important to him, and, with a wink, thanked the SYNERGIE team in Karlsruhe – led by branch manager Volker Knittel – for their excellent support. And then the 47-year-old wondered how many more anniversaries he might be able to celebrate at SYNERGIE before he retires.
